Requirements for obtaining different types of Police Clearance Certificate

  1. Public Motor Vehicle (PMV) Character Check:

  • Download Form below or pick up an application form at the National Criminal Records Office or at the nearest police station.
  • Pay the K65.00 fee at a finance cashier office and attach the receipt with the form.
  • Submit the completed form to the NCRO office at the Police National Headquarters or at Gordons (if in Port Moresby).
  • Wait for one week for processing.
  1. Papua New Guinea Police Character Check:

  • Download Form below or pick up an application form at the National Criminal Records Office or at the nearest police station.
  • Pay the K65.00 fee at a finance cashier office and attach the receipt with the form.
  • Submit the completed form to the NCRO office at the Police National Headquarters or at Gordons (if in Port Moresby).
  • Wait for one week for processing.
  1. Firearms Character Check:

  • Pick up an application form at the National Criminal Records Office or at the nearest police station.
  • Attach the notice for sale and disposal form from a licensed gun dealer and the complete Interpol firearm request form.
  • Pay the K65.00 fee at a finance cashier office and attach the receipt with the form.
  • Submit the completed form to the NCRO office at the Police National Headquarters or at Gordons (if in Port Moresby).
  • Wait for one week for processing.
  1. Expatriates in Papua New Guinea Character Check:

  • Download Form below or pick up an application form at the National Criminal Records Office or at the nearest police station.
  • Bring the completed form, current passport, visa, work permit, and receipt of the K65.00 fee payment.
  • Submit the completed form and required documents to the NCRO office at Gordons.
  • Wait for two weeks for processing.
  1. Expatriates Overseas Character Check:

  • Report to the nearest police station in the country you are in.
  • The police station will collect the required information and send it to the NCRO in Port Moresby.
  • Wait for two weeks for processing.
  1. Police Crime Report:

  • Pick up an application form at the National Criminal Records Office or at the nearest police station.
  • Pay the K100.00 fee at a finance cashier office and attach the receipt with the form.
  • Submit the completed form to the NCRO office at the Police National Headquarters or at Gordons (if in Port Moresby).
  • Wait for one week for processing.
