White House presents gift to Commissioner Manning

The United States Secretary of State, Mr Anthony Blinken, presented a gift to Police Commissioner David Manning, on behalf of the White House.

The gift was a token of appreciation for the exceptional delivery of a safe and successful third Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation.

Commissioner Manning was overwhelmed with the gesture by the White House and commended members of the security forces for “a job well done”. He said it was a collective effort and credit goes to everyone involved, including officers from line government agencies and departments, the people of PNG and especially the residents of Port Moresby.

FIPIC was attended by leaders of 15 countries including New Zealand, Fiji as well as the Prime Minister of India and the US Secretary of State.
